First Aid for Parents
This course covers the common and potentially life threatening emergencies that parents might encounter and which could affect their child, helping to give a basic understanding and confidence to deal with these.
What you will learn?
This course covers how to deal with emergency situations involving infants and young children until professional help arrives.
- Priorities of first aid
- Treatment of an unresponsive child
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for infants and children
- Choking (child and infant protocols)
- Managing seizures and febrile convulsions
- Questions arising
There is no assessment; this is an awareness course to give confidence to those looking after infants and children in the home.
This course is aimed at parents and guardians and is not suitable for child minders for use in the workplace.
One and a half hours.
£10 per person.
Minimum of six delegates per course.
