First Aid at Work Course

This comprehensive course covers all the requirements to comply with the Health & Safety (First Aid) regulations. All UK employers have a legal requirement to carry out a risk assessment and provide adequate first aid cover for their workplace and employees.

What you will learn?

This course delivers the principles and practice background allowing employees to give emergency first aid, possibly in life threatening situations and includes many illnesses and injuries that can occur in the workplace. All our courses fully meet both the UK and European Resuscitation Councils latest guidelines as per HSE requirements.

Course Content

  • Assess the situation
  • Priorities of first aid
  • Primary survey
  • Treatment of an unresponsive casualty
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (adult)
  • Chest pain (Angina/Heart attack)
  • Choking (adult)
  • Wounds and bleeding
  • Shock
  • Bone, muscle and spinal injuries
  • Sprains and strains
  • Chest injuries
  • Anaphylactic shock
  • Asthma
  • Burns
  • Head injuries
  • Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar)
  • Seizures
  • Poisoning
  • Stroke
  • Health and safety (first aid) regulations
  • Introduction to Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)

Assessment

Continuous assessment by the trainer. There is also a multi-choice question paper to confirm understanding. Successful delegates will receive a First Aid at Work certificate meeting HSE recommendations, valid for three years.

Course Duration

Three days (Eighteen contact hours). All sessions must be attended.

Cost

£190 per person

This includes a training manual, training resource pack and a resuscitation shield.
Minimum of four delegates per course.

We will be pleased to discuss terms for six or more delegates on any individual course.
The price shown is for on-site training.

It is strongly recommended first aiders should attend annual half day refresher training during the certification period.
