Terms and Conditions
DDS First Aid Training shall supply the training services and goods and is referred hereafter as the ‘Company’. The term ‘Customer’ shall mean either an individual delegate or company purchasing training services or goods and is referred hereafter as the ‘Customer’.
1. Course Bookings.
All bookings by the customer are to be made by email or post. Telephone bookings are to be confirmed in writing before the booking will be confirmed by the company.
2. Payment.
2.1. Our standard payment terms are that Full payment should be made by the customer a minimum of 7 days prior to the commencement date of the course.
2.2. If payment is not received by this date a surcharge of 5% will be added to the account. Unless previously agreed otherwise by the company, no delegate may undertake training without payment having been made.
2.3. Payment can be made by BACS or cheque. Any adjustment to final delegate numbers attending will be discussed and invoices adjusted, subject to terms contained in section 4, Transfers and Cancellations.
2.4. Should payment be still outstanding after 14 days of the course date the company will charge the customer an additional £20.00 administration charge and interest at the rate of 5% per month will be added.
3. Certificates.
3.1. The company reserves the right not to issue certificates where an invoice remains unpaid. The initial issue of a certificate (where provided), either Electronic (PDF) or Hard Copy is included within the course fee. Following feedback, we now issue PDF certificates where applicable. If both versions are required an additional administration charge of £10.00, per course, will apply.
3.2 Requests for a duplicate certificate must be made in writing and are subject to an administration charge of £7.50.
3.3. Refresher training delegates placed on the refresher course must be in possession and produce a copy of a valid HSE approved certificate, prior to the course commencement. To be eligible to attend a HSE two-day Requalification course, delegates must present a valid First Aid at Work certificate.
4. Transfers and Cancellations.
4.1. In the event the customer requests a transfer to another course the company reserves the right to charge an administration fee of £10, payable at the time of the request.
4.2. The customer may make a maximum of two transfer changes to new course dates(s) within three months of the original course date, payment carried over.
4.3. In the event the customer cancels a place(s) or course altogether and requests a refund the following will apply:
- More than 14 days prior to the course start date = Full refund.
- 7 to 14 days prior to the course = 10% of the course fee or per person payable or £30.00 whichever the greater – balance refunded.
- 48hrs to 7 days prior to the course = 25% of the course fee or per person payable – balance refunded.
- Less than 48hrs prior to the course = 50% of the course fee or per person payable – balance refunded.
5. Course Attendance & Timings.
Once a course has commenced any delegate not completing the course will mean no certificate will be issued and there will be no refunds against non-attendance. Delegates must adhere to timings as stipulated on the course confirmation and instructions. Please ensure all delegates aim to arrive at least 10 minutes before the course start time. Failure to attend any part of the course may result in the delegate’s removal from any final examination (where applicable). The complete course must be attended to receive a certificate.
6. Fitness to Attend.
The customer takes responsibility to ensure any delegate placed on a course must be free from any condition or injury that will affect their ability to participate during the practical aspects of the course. They must be able to kneel on the floor to administer CPR and put a casualty in the recovery position. Please ensure any limitations on participation are brought to the attention of the company at the time of booking and the trainer at the start of the course. Certain assessment criteria must be achieved to qualify on courses. If any doubt as to suitability to attend, the customer should discuss this on booking a place.
7. Failure to Show.
Any delegate failing to attend a course will still reflect as a booking, the fee of which will be due subject to the above terms and conditions.
8. Course Dates.
Every effort will be made to adhere to the chosen date.
9. Unavoidable Occurrences.
The company cannot be held responsible for any incident or occurrence outside its control that affects the provision of any given course date, course content or course timing and/or including cancellation, amendment or re-scheduling. Where a course or course timing has to be amended/cancelled/re-scheduled for whatever reason, the company will make every reasonable effort to make alternative arrangements acceptable to the customer. In the event of this the customer will be entitled to either a transfer to another course or full refund.
10. Right of Admission.
The company reserves the right to refuse admission to any delegate exhibiting unruly or anti-social behaviour to either its staff or other delegates. Any such incident will result in the immediate removal of the offending party. No refund will become due.
11. Publicity.
The company reserves the right to mention a customer in its website or social media platforms; however individual delegate names will not be published. If you do not wish for this then please inform us when booking the course. Any photograph taken on a course may be used by the company for publicity purposes.
12. Course Bookings.
All bookings are subject to the above standard terms and conditions. By making a booking the customer is accepting these terms and conditions. We abide by the applicable aspects of the Distance Selling Regulations 2000.
